A Hampton Tradition Continues

So dad got up early this weekend and decided to cook a foofy breakfast. In an homage to our upstairs neighbors, he decided to center the recipe around Brinley Gold Coconut Rum. Final result? Brinley Gold, apples and cinnamon reduction over whole grain French toast. Yummy!

It has been a long standing Hampton tradition to sit the kid on the counter and allow them to watch the cooking process. By chance my bouncy seat fits exactly I’ve the sink. So I watched the dicing, the reducing, the batter and the whole nine yards. It was cool. So
Eday dad may even allow me to stir something. Hey, you gotta start somewhere right?

  1. Cooper!! Get with it lad. Between the earring caper and now volunteering to learn to cook – I’m concerned you might be getting off on the wrong foot here.
Take my word for it, the best place for a man in the kitchen is right there in that bouncy seat. First, it keeps you clear of routine kitchen drudge work like slicing and dicing, boiling and brazing, and taking out the trash. Second, its an excellent place to maintain that all-important sensitive conversation your future wife will inevitably want from you before dinner.
Be careful my little friend, I see you have a lot to learn!
    Love,
    Granddaddy
P.S. Do you think granddaddy is spelled with 4 d’s or 3?
